The Kenya Diaspora Awards 2023

The Diaspora Awards aims to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable contributions and achievements of individuals from diverse Kenyan diaspora communities around the world. This prestigious event brings together exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and impact in various fields, while also highlighting the positive influence of diaspora communities on a global scale. The awards ceremony serves as a platform to honor the accomplishments of these outstanding individuals and inspire future generations.

Objectives:

○ Recognize and honor exceptional achievements by individuals from diaspora communities in various domains, including but not limited to arts and culture, entrepreneurship, science and technology, academia, social impact, and philanthropy.

○ Showcase the positive influence and contributions of diaspora communities in fostering global understanding, cultural exchange, diplomacy, and socio-economic development.

○ Inspire and motivate individuals within diaspora communities to strive for excellence and make a meaningful impact in their respective fields.

○ Foster networking and collaboration opportunities among diaspora leaders, professionals, and organizations (including corporates) to promote further advancements and cross-cultural exchange.

Selection Process:

○ Open Nomination Phase: We invite nominations from the public, diaspora organizations, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders. It is a transparent nomination process through an online platform, allowing individuals to submit nominations for deserving candidates.

○ Evaluation and Shortlisting: A diverse panel of judges, experts, and industry leaders will evaluate the nominations. Shortlisting of the candidates is based on their accomplishments, impact, and alignment with the award criteria.

○ Final Selection and Voting: The panel will conduct in-depth assessments of the candidates and select the best performers for each category based on predetermined criteria, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and transparency. The public will then vote for their favorite diaspora candidate for the awards.

Award Ceremony and Recognition:

○ The exclusive Diaspora Awards ceremony to honor the winners will take place at the Movenpick Hotel, Westlands, Nairobi (7th December 2023), and will provide a lively environment for networking opportunities.

○ Winners will receive a prestigious award trophy and certificate recognizing their exceptional achievements.

Nominations will run from 11th November to the 19th of November 2023, 11:59 EST.
